Jenny Ustynik (she/her) is a native Houstonian and proud alumna of The University of Texas at Austin. She joined the School of Humanities in September 2024, bringing extensive experience in education both in the U.S. and abroad. In her role as Graduate Program Administrator, Jenny supports graduate students in the departments of Art History, Philosophy, and English, guiding them from application through to graduation. She collaborates closely with the directors of graduate studies and graduate committees on recruitment, admissions, orientation, and student evaluations.
Before joining Rice, Jenny worked at Texas Woman’s University, where she led initiatives in admissions, recruitment travel, event planning, and enrollment management. She also spent seven years living in Santiago, Chile, supporting international students at various educational institutions. Jenny is conversational in Spanish but is always looking for more practice! Her global experience includes living and working in Chile, Argentina, Spain, the U.K., the Republic of Ireland, and Germany.
Outside of her work, Jenny enjoys traveling, dancing, singing, exploring nature, visiting museums, weightlifting, and spending time with her cats.
