Jaime Peña

Jaime Peña serves as the Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs, where he oversees the RISE program at Rice University. In this role, he is dedicated to uplifting and supporting RISE students throughout their first two years, helping them navigate their academic journey and build a strong foundation for success.
Jaime holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a minor in Business and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, both from Sam Houston State University. While at Sam Houston, he played a key role in founding the First Generation Center, a space designed to support and empower first-generation college students.


With a deep commitment to student success in higher education, Jaime approaches his work with compassion, energy, and a belief in the power of community. A quote that guides his work comes from his favorite superhero, Spider-Man: "When you help someone, you help everyone." – Aunt May
