WEBSITE(S)| Verduzco Polymer Engineering Laboratory | Google Scholar | Rice Academy Fellow

Dr. Harsh Vardhan earned his M.S. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur, and subsequently worked with Prof. Francis Verpoort at the Laboratory of Organometallics, Catalysis, and Ordered Materials, WHUT-China. In 2016, he began his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of South Florida under the supervision of Dr. Shengqian Ma. His research focused on “establishing structure-function-property relationship of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for heterogeneous catalysis including C-H activation". In 2021, he joined the Northwestern-Argonne Institute of Science and Engineering as a postdoctoral fellow, investigating COF-based materials for selective ion rejection”. Currently, as a Postdoctoral research associate and Rice academy junior fellow, he works with Dr. Rafael Verduzco on COFs for PFAS degradation and selective metal ions removal from water. Dr. Vardhan is the recipient of several awards, including a department research grant, the Alexiou Award in Environmental Chemistry, the Martin Travel award, the Conference Presentation Grant Program Award, most helpful faculty by students, Rice academy fellowship, and Sigma Xi membership. Outside of work, Harsh enjoys writing novels, playing badminton, and horse riding.
