Grant Stephens

Grant Stephens grew up in Missouri City, Texas, and found his early passion for leadership, community, and service as a student-athlete at Washington State University. He served as the Student Development Specialist at the University of Northern Colorado for 2 years, working with high academic risk student populations.

In 2024, Grant joined Rice University’s Office of Access and Institutional Excellence as Assistant Director for Student Engagement. In this role, he leads programming that connects cultural identity with student success, aiming to make the Rice experience more fulfilling for all students, particularly those from historically underrepresented backgrounds. He also works with each residential college's Black Caucus-creating programming events centered around belonging.

Grant holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and believes in the power of intentional programming to build belonging, purpose, and institutional pride. When he’s not on campus, he enjoys fitness training, faith-based leadership, and exploring new ways to empower the next generation.
