Fumikazu obtained Ph.D. degree majoring in Electrical, Electronic, and Infocommunications Engineering at Osaka University, under the supervision of Prof. Masayoshi Tonouchi. His doctoral study mainly focused on the ultrafast carrier dynamics in semiconductors by terahertz emission spectroscopy. At Rice, he is working with Prof. Shengxi Huang in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research field mainly focuses on the optical and quantum phenomena in 2D materials. More specifically, he explores the single photon emitters in these materials to understand their nature and achieve the superior single photon emitters. Outside of the lab, Fumikazu enjoys fishing, watching motor sports, and reading comics.
