Ekim Cem Muyan is the Executive Director of the Texas Policy Lab. He is an economist with research on decentralization and public spending, campaign spending, and foreign aid networks. Before joining the Texas Policy Lab, Dr. Muyan was an associate at Cornerstone Research where he provided economic and financial analyses in complex commercial litigation and regulatory proceedings.

Dr. Muyan earned a Ph.D. in economics from University of Pennsylvania where his focus was political economics.  He also holds an MSc from Universitá di Bologna where he was a fellow of Collegio Superiore and a visiting fellow of École Normale Supérieure in Paris.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Sabanci University with a major in Economics and minor in Mathematics.
