Eastman Landry

Eastman Landry is the STEM Learning Specialist at the OASUS. In addition to helping students build the skills to find success in their journey exploring STEM, he enjoys sharing his curiosity and goal of life-long learning.

He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University in 2009 where his time on campus reinforced his joy in collaborating with others and helping them learn. Upon graduating from Rice, he began his career with the Houston Independent School District, where he spent sixteen years teaching high-school Math and Science, including fifteen years at the Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. In 2018, Eastman earned his Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston.

Eastman has been working with Rice students since 2015, serving each summer as the Physics Instructor for the Rice Emerging Scholars Program (RESP). His career also includes ten years with the College Board, where he has served as an AP Physics question leader at the AP reading, a content creator for the Physics AP Classroom, as well as a member of the test development committee for AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism. Outside of helping students pursue their preferred academic path, Eastman enjoys running, baking, exploring the many cuisines of Houston, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
