Drahomira (Draha) Brejchova is the Program Coordinator for the Department of Transnational Asian Studies and the Chao Center, serving as the primary point of contact and public face for both entities. She plays a key role in managing a range of administrative duties and special events, while also acting as a go-to problem-solver for various operational needs. Her work involves close collaboration with faculty, students, university staff, guests, and external organizations.
She holds an M.S. in Water Technology from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague and an M.S. in Environmental Science from Rice University. Prior to her current role, she worked as an environmental consultant for Parsons Engineering and as a researcher at Lynntech, Inc.
Draha began her career at Rice in 2006 as an Editorial Assistant to Professor Pedro Alvarez, Associate Editor of the journal Environmental Science & Technology. She has since held roles at the Rice WaTER Institute and served as manager of the Rice SynthX Center.
