Diana Garcia has extensive experience in the higher education industry, where she has held various positions within non-for-profit, private for-profit, and public Higher Education sectors.   

Before joining Rice University, Diana was the Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Treasury and Real Estate, the Executive Director of Treasury, and the Director of Treasury and Finance at Lone Star College, System Office in the Woodlands, TX. – the second-largest community college in the nation. During her nine-year tenure at Lone Star College, Diana oversaw the treasury department with direct responsibilities over cash management, investment management, debt management, and capital finance. She was also responsible for all related compliance, from internal policies to state, local, and federal regulatory measures.  

Prior to this, Diana was the Business Office Manager at Strayer University, Coral Springs, FL., where she supervised the activities of the Business Office staff to ensure compliance with established guidelines regarding student financial assistance programs and established collection and audit goals.
