Dr. Sun acquired his bachelor's degree in Pharmacy at Shandong University in China. He finished his PhD degree in Medicinal Chemistry at Ocean University of China, under the supervision of Professor Dehai Li where he worked on the discovery of bioactive marine natural products. Dr. Sun is working with Professor Xue Gao to focus on the natural products discovery and engineering.

Other than being in the laboratory, Dr. Sun loves to play badminton, enjoys hanging out, and likes to try something new.
