Christy is orignally from from Shallowater, TX (near Lubbock).  She earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Lubbock Christian University.  For the past 22 years, she has worked for Texas Tech University in both Sponsored Programs Accounting and Reporting and Financial Aid & Scholarships. 

She and her husband enjoy touring major league baseball fields, trying new recipes on the grill, walking and yoga.  She has three rescue pets:  Bentley (German shepherd), Callie (our precious - not so precious cat and boss of the Montecillo household), and Henry (bearded dragon).  Christy's son is a music performance and education major at Angelo State University with a concentration in trumpet.
