As the Assistant Director of Mathematics Education, Christina’s goal is to support teachers in strengthening instruction and creating meaningful learning opportunities for students. As a high school educator, mathematics specialist, and assistant principal with 13 years of experience in education, she is excited to bring her expertise in mathematics education, teacher development, and curriculum design to this position. Throughout her career, she has led professional learning and developed programs that support both teachers and students.

Christina believes students deserve meaningful learning opportunities that begin with memorable learning experiences. She is passionate about supporting teachers in ways that empower them with purposeful, realistic lessons and instructional practices they can implement in their classrooms.

As she begins this new chapter, Christina hopes to support mathematics educators, expand opportunities for K–12 students, and learn from the Rice University and R-STEM communities.

Christina holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Arlington. She also holds a certificate as a Principal as an Instructional Leader.

She looks forward to partnering with educators to create meaningful mathematics experiences that inspire both teachers and students to see what is possible.
