Chris Ordoñez

Chris manages programs on natural climate solutions, coastal protection, the voluntary carbon market, and other engineering and science projects for the SSPEED Center. He is an ocean engineer and physical oceanographer with over two decades of experience in the New Blue Economy including: coastal operations, underwater robotics manufacturing, hydrographic mapping, oceanographic observational research, and offshore construction. He’s held roles from Field Engineer to Program Manager and worked with diverse cultures on ships and in countries around the globe. Chris has a BS in Ocean Engineering (Texas A&M Univ.), a MS in Ocean Physics (Oregon State Univ.), a MEng in Engineering Management & Leadership (Rice Univ.), and held numerous leadership positions in the Marine Technology Society.
