Chetna Koshy leads the university’s Ethics and Compliance Program. She provides strategic direction and oversight for the Ethics and Compliance program and promotes the university’s ethical behavior and compliance culture. Chetna is responsible for bringing existing and emerging compliance matters to the attention of university management and the board of trustees. She coordinates updates to university policies and leads the Executive Compliance Committee, including those responsible for managing compliance with governmental laws and regulations in their respective areas.
Chetna received her B.A. from Rice in 1995 in Political Science and Psychology and her J.D. from the University of Houston in 1998. She is a licensed attorney admitted to practice in Texas and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas. She is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional International (CCEP - I) and Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC). Chetna is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Society of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, Health Care Compliance Association, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys. Before returning to Rice, Chetna led NYU Abu Dhabi’s Office of Compliance and Risk Management. She has also guest lectured in undergraduate courses on ethics, labor and economics, business and human rights, social responsibility, and international business law at NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU Shanghai.
