Chelsea Drake joined SSI as the Assistant Director for the Rice Emerging Scholars Program (RESP) in August 2020. She is a Houston native and is thrilled to be back in her hometown working at Rice. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and then went on to earn a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Austin. Chelsea loves working with students and being able to help them find ways to thrive in higher education.

Advising Philosophy: Chelsea knows that teaching students the skills to think critically about the world around them is essential to their growth as engaged citizens. Her greatest passion is empowering students to embrace their intersecting identities and supporting them on their journey to success inside and outside of the classroom.
