Under the guidance of the Director and Associate Director, Canecia Smith works to support the day-to-day business operations of the Center for African and African American Studies.

Canecia holds an MBA from Texas A&M-Texarkana and a BA from Texas A&M-Commerce in business administration with a minor in business education. Canecia has five years of experience in higher education and over 10 years of administrative experience.
