Bill Altermatt joined the Institutional Research team in June 2026. Prior to joining Rice, Bill was the lead data scientist at the Utah Education Policy Center, Associate Director of Institutional Research at Carleton College, and Professor of Psychology and Associate Dean for Learning Assessment and Program Review at Hanover College. Bill specializes in research design, data manipulation in R Studio, and predictive analytics. He holds a BA in psychology from Millersville University and an MA and PhD in social psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
