Anish Thomas came to Rice University in April of 2022. As the Risk Management and Insurance Specialist II, he supports the university's mission by providing faculty, staff, and students with risk management services. These services maximize opportunities for the campus community while encouraging and supporting practices that mitigate the risk of adverse events. Before coming to Rice, Anish served as a Risk Management professional for a major non-profit charitable organization in the Midwest territory of the United States. In addition to this, Anish has a background in claims management, working for a primary insurance carrier.

Anish has a B.S. in Health Planning and Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an M. Ed in Human Resources Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
