Amirpooya D. Dardashti is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Engineering Communication Program, where he teaches workplace and professional communication to engineering students.
During his doctoral studies at Texas A&M University, Dr. Dardashti served for two years as an instructor of record, teaching undergraduate courses in pre-service teacher education and bilingual education. During this time, he also worked as a Graduate Writing Consultant at Texas A&M University’s Writing Center, coaching undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students across STEM disciplines on refining their written and oral communication.
Drawing on his background as an emergent bilingual and his international teaching experience, Dr. Dardashti brings an intercultural communication lens to his work with Rice students. His teaching emphasizes clarity, audience awareness, and rhetorical adaptability, helping students strengthen their communication practices for diverse technical and professional contexts.
Dr. Dardashti is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA, Levels I & II), holds a TESOL certificate, and completed the Academy for Future Faculty program. His research focuses on generative AI and writing, multilingual communication, and cross-cultural pedagogy.
