I work on rare earth element extraction from porous media, particularly coal seams, using less environmentally harmful methods such as ligand leaching. I have prior experience using microfluidic devices to visualize pore-scale interactions of fluid mixtures, as well as working with nanomaterials for subsurface hydrogen and CO₂ storage. Building on this technical background, I am interested in investigating rare earth element extraction and optimizing ligand leaching processes using microfluidic devices. Additionally, parallel to this research, I am also interested in CO₂ sequestration and EOR projects.
