Alec is a post-baccalaureate research fellow at Rice University's Kinder Institute for Urban Research. He provides research support for the Kinder Houston Area Survey (KHAS) and other projects. Prior to joining the Kinder Institute, Alec was an intern at the San Francisco Planning Department and Traffic Engineers Inc. in Houston. He graduated with bachelor's degrees in sociology and policy studies from Rice University, where he used the KHAS to study Hurricane Harvey's impact on attitudes toward land-use regulation in Houston.
