Dr. Aldo Spatafora’s research combines experiments, simulations, and theory to study the assembly and dynamics of superparamagnetic colloids under time-varying magnetic fields for the development of micro-robots and stimuli-responsive materials. He joined Rice once again in 2024 as a research scientist in Prof. Sibani Lisa Biswal’s research group, where his current research focuses in elucidating the dynamics and material properties of various soft matter systems including colloidal suspensions, emulsions, and foams. He also researches electrochemical systems using multiphysics simulations.
