Aishwarya Lakshmi received her Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Chicago. Her disciplinary focus is nineteenth and early twentieth century British India, postcolonial literature and theory. She was previously an Assistant Professor of English at Hamilton College and Program Director at the Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Program/Institute for Research on Women,Gender & Sexuality at the University of Houston.
