Ahjah Green

Introduction:

Ahjah Green joined the SSI team as the Assistant Director of First Year Programs in September 2023. Originally from Chicago, IL, Ahjah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Arizona State University and her Master of Education in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago. After her graduate degree, she worked at the University of Houston in campus activities, where she oversaw social and cultural programming opportunities. She is excited to be working in a different area over first year programs, and continue to enhance the student experience. In her spare time, she likes to travel, try new restaurants in Houston, and binge watch all things on Netflix!

Advising Philosophy:
After receiving her Master’s from a Jesuit institution, Ahjah learned the value of holistic advising and cura personalis (‘care for the whole self’). Ahjah believes that advising should include every identity that students hold, and not focusing on each part as individual. Ahjah shares a deep respect for diversity and difference and emphasis on encouraging those around her to prioritize the rest of the mind and body.
