As a social-health psychologist, the overarching goal of Dr. Brown's research is to investigate how fundamental human experiences (love and loss) contribute to biopsychosocial health as we age.

To advance research in this field, Dr. Brown leads the Stress, Aging, and Relationships (STAR) Lab at Texas Tech University to study how stress-response processes, particularly during vulnerable periods of social loss, inform our understanding of social contributions to healthy aging. Beyond research, Dr. Brown is dedicated to science communication and hosts the Stress Puzzle podcast.
