Thanh Nguyen joined RCEL after more than two decades in engineering, spanning both
conventional and renewable energy sectors. A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in
Electrical Engineering, she brings real-world expertise from her role as Vice President of
Engineering for a major EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firm, where
she led high-performing teams in relay protection, SCADA systems, battery energy
storage, and performance engineering.
Earlier in her career, Thanh spent 18 years at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories
(SEL), where she helped develop technologies that make electric power safer, more
reliable, and more economical. She holds two U.S. patents and later led engineering
efforts for large-scale solar and energy storage projects across North America.
Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and
Computer Sciences (EECS) from the University of California, Berkeley; a Master of
Engineering in Electrical Engineering; and a Master of Business Administration (MBA),
both from the University of Idaho.
Beyond her engineering career, Thanh is a certified Maxwell Leadership Coach,
keynote speaker, and bestselling author. She is also the co-founder and CEO of The
Encourage Team, a leadership and personal development company dedicated to
helping individuals and organizations grow with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
Passionate about bridging technical expertise and leadership excellence, Thanh
integrates hands-on engineering, leadership principles, and positive psychology into her
teaching. She is committed to preparing students not only as skilled engineers but also
as resilient, ethical, and impactful leaders ready to shape the world.
