Sora Jun is an assistant professor of management in the Organizational Behavior group at the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.
In her research, Jun uses psychological perspectives to study social hierarchies and inequality, workplace discrimination, and intergroup relations. In one line of research, she is particularly interested in how people recognize, respond to, and navigate intergroup dynamics in hierarchies that are composed of more than two groups.
In a second line of research, she investigates processes of hidden group-based inequities: when and why organizational actors fail to recognize problematic workplace inequities such as racial discrimination and sexual harassment when they happen. Her research has been published in leading journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Psychological Science.
Jun teaches Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Business in the MBA Programs at Rice Business. She received a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, and she received a B.Com. in commerce and finance from the University of Toronto.
