Rob Kimbro

Rob Kimbro is a director, dramaturg, and designer, who has worked at theatres in Houston and across the country, including the Alley Theatre, McCarter Theater Center, American Players Theatre and many other. His work balances a love for Shakespeare and classical Greek theatre with a strong interest in new and adapted work, as well as stories of the fantastic across all time periods. Rob was the founder of the Madison Young Playwrights Festival in Madison, WI. His original adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Odd and the Frost Giants debuted at Stages Repertory Theatre in 2011. He was the assistant director for the world premiere of Regina Taylor’s Crowns at the McCarter Theatre Center and the stage manager for the 2020 and 2021 Nebula Awards. He received his BA from Rice University (Sid Rich ’95) and his MA from the University of Houston.
