Nolan Green is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry. He received his BS from Wake Forest University under the supervision of Prof. John Lukesh III studying organoselenium donors and hydrogen sulfide sensors. He then went on to complete his PhD at the University of Illinois under the supervision of Prof Martin Burke. His thesis "Modular Synthesis for Cooperative Scaffolds and Chemical Education" entailed understanding a model system for a synthetic hemoglobin mimic as well as developing new research-based lab modules that bring the forefront of synthetic organic chemistry and the fundamentals of machine learning into the undergraduate teaching labs. Most recently, Nolan was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Swarthmore College.
