Nathan Queiroz received his Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). His dissertation focuses on the training of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PFL) teachers in Brazil. He is originally from the state of Bahia, where he graduated as a PFL Teacher at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). In addition to working as a CELPE-Bras examiner since 2018, his main research centers on language teaching through cultural methodologies and the production of didactic material. Before coming to Rice, he worked at Portuguese language teaching institutes in Mexico, Paraguay and Peru.
As a foreign language teacher assistant, Nathan strives to bring Brazilian culture to Portuguese classes through immersive dynamics.
