Maryam Emami earned her doctoral degree in French studies, with a doctoral emphasis in Applied Linguistics from the University of California Santa Barbara. Her dissertation focuses on the link between second-language learning and identity reconstruction. She is interested in topics pertaining to Second-Language Acquisition and Bilingualism as well as in Feminist Inquiry and Exile Studies. Her main interests deal with pedagogical issues in Language Teaching as well as Language Learning. Professor Emami is a dedicated, engaging and dynamic individual who is passionate about teaching. She is an Associate at Wiess College.
