Dr. Mark Maynard (University of Houston, Ph.D.) came to Rice in 2023 joining the Department of Psychological Sciences as a Lecturer. Dr. Maynard’s current research focuses on understanding the biochemical mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Alzheimer’s Disease, with the long-term goal of identifying potential targets for therapeutic interventions. His research is in collaboration with the lab of Dr. Pramod K. Dash at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
