Mack Joyner

Mack Joyner is currently an Assistant Teaching Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Professional Master’s of Computer Science program. Originally from Kansas City, Mack completed three degrees in CS at Rice: B.S. (2002), M.S. (2005), and Ph.D. (2008).  He remained in Houston as a software engineer for Texas Instruments after completing his PhD.  Once established in his industry career, he taught introductory courses part-time in the CS departments at Rice and Texas Southern University before taking on a full-time position at Rice in 2016.
