Professor Emerita Linda Driskill served Rice University for the entirety of her career; she received her B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Rice, and was employed by the Rice English Department continuously beginning in 1970. In her 42 years teaching at Rice, Professor Driskill held several administrative positions (most notably as Director of the Cain Project, ’98-’08), served on innumerable committees, was instrumental in directing the instruction of communication and writing courses, and was a stalwart member of the department, especially in the classroom where her devotion to Rice students was particularly apparent.
