Lee Ann E. Butler

Lee Ann Butler is a Senior Lecturer of Management at Rice University and the former Academic Director for MBA@Rice. She has been teaching business law and related courses since 2001 - first at Louisiana State University, later at the University of Texas at Dallas, and, since 2010, at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business. She teaches in the full-time, professional, and on-line MBA programs as well as the Master of Accountancy program. Prior to teaching, Lee Ann practiced law both as a litigator (creditors’ rights defense) and, later, as a regulator (as the attorney for the State of Louisiana’s Department of the Treasury.) She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Business and her Doctor of Jurisprudence degrees from Indiana University – Bloomington and she is (inactively) licensed as an attorney in the states of Indiana, Louisiana, and Florida. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, textile arts, and hiking.
