Biography
Kristi Kincaid has taught general chemistry at Rice since 2011, and is a faculty associate of Baker College. She believes strongly that students learn best through doing, and has restructured the general chemistry lab course to a more inquiry-based approach. This gives students the opportunity to explore chemical phenomena for themselves, and hopefully leads to a greater understanding of and love for chemistry. Or at least appreciation, but hopefully love.
Prior to joining the Rice faculty, Dr. Kincaid worked in the biotechnology industry, developing new methods for DNA sequencing. Outside of chemistry, Dr. Kincaid is an avid rock climber, and is the faculty sponsor for the Rice Climbing Club.
