Kevin’s dynamic career in the energy business has spanned multiple disciplines, from scientific research to patented technological inventions, and from business development to the leadership of multiple product lines and associated teams with diverse stakeholders.
He began his career with Schlumberger and subsequently worked for more than 15 years at Baker Hughes, progressing from a research and development engineer to senior leadership roles, including managing growing business verticals and directing the most impactful research and innovation organization in the oilfield services sector. Cross-functional collaboration has afforded him the opportunity to partner with technology, marketing and sales, operations, supply chain and manufacturing, and finance organizations. Known as a people leader that delivers results, Kevin utilizes his strengths with people, technical understanding, and business savvy to deliver winning strategies and successful outcomes.
In the corporate world, Kevin’s attitude towards lifelong learning and passion for people allowed him to bring about change and innovation to complex problem. He loves to share his experience with others and is energized as those around him learn and solve their own challenges.
Embracing an attitude of “fail fast, learn faster,” Kevin leads and encourages those around him to employ this principle so they can tackle problems, gain knowledge through experience, and quickly apply these insights to new circumstances.
Kevin holds his Ph.D. and M.S. in Material Science and Engineering, as well as a B.S. in Engineering from Vanderbilt University. He has 8 patents pending or issued and is constantly thinking of new ways to solve increasingly complex challenges. Throughout his career, Kevin has published in academic journals, presented at numerous workshops and conferences (including Society of Petroleum Engineers), and organized joint industry forums. Kevin volunteers extensively at St Luke’s United Methodist Church and is a Lifetime/10+ year committee member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He and his wife are raising two daughters and have called Houston, Texas home since 2004.
