In the MIDAS lab, my research focuses on host-pathogen interactions in mycobacterial infections. On the host side, we are developing experimental models to study the signaling of innate and adaptive immune cells during mycobacterial infections. Additionally, we are investigating the role of vitamin D in immune cells in relation to mycobacterial granuloma formation.

To understand the pathogen's role in infection, we are studying bacterial communication, transcriptional regulation in response to stress, and bacterial biofilm formation using synthetic biology and microscopic techniques.
