Jim Harmon currently works as a Director II data scientist at Liberty Mutual Insurance. He brings new technologies, new statistical techniques, and machine learning operations to the reserve actuarial modeling team. Since 2000, he has been a teacher, an actuary, and a data scientist, sometimes all at the same time! He received his doctorate in statistics at the University of Washington in 2015. In his spare time, he loves to read, take photos, play music, eat good food, practice martial arts, and watch horror movies with his fiancee, Victoria.
