Elizabeth runs the Genetic Design and Engineering Center (GDEC), where she creates scalable pipelines for DNA assembly and analysis. Her work leverages robotic automation and next-generation sequencing to build plasmid libraries for applications in protein engineering, cellular reprogramming, and more. The GDEC is funded by the Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT), and has a special focus on clinical applications and collaboration within the Texas Medical Center.
