Chen Wei will join the Department of Computer Science at Rice University as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2025. Currently, she is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Meta AI (FAIR). She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University in 2024, under the guidance of Bloomberg Distinguished Professor Alan L. Yuille, and completed her B.Sc. with honors in Computer Science at Peking University in 2019.

Chen’s research lies at the intersection of Computer Vision and Machine Learning, with focuses in Generative AI, Multimodal Learning and Unsupervised Learning. Her work addresses one of artificial intelligence's core challenges: transforming complex sensory signals, especially visual information, into structured and meaningful knowledge. She aims to develop scalable and generalizable systems for visual intelligence capable of perceiving, processing, and reasoning about visual data.
