Anastasiya Anastasiya

Anastasiya Protasov is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics and Operations Research at Rice University.

Dr. Protasov earned her Ph.D. in 2016 from Texas A&M University, where she was mentored by Professor Yalchin Efendiev. She also holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, which she obtained in 2007 from Novosibirsk State University in Russia.

Her research focuses on a range of model reduction techniques, multiscale finite element methods, and parameter estimation. Dr. Protasov has extensive experience in developing and teaching courses in linear algebra, differential equations, calculus, and introductory programming. She is particularly passionate about creating interactive pedagogical materials to enhance the learning experience.
