Alex is a lecturer at Rice University for the Social Policy Analysis (SOPA) program. Alex completed her Ph.D. in Political Science at Rice University. She teaches courses on statistics and quantitative research methods. Her courses prepare students to design and implement their own research projects in R, a statistical software.

Along with her teaching responsibilities, Alex serves as a SOPA capstone advisor. She has advised capstone teams working with the Texas Center for Justice and Equity (TCJE). She is also serving as a faculty advisor for a Civic Leadership Capstone project with Harris County Precinct 2.

Alex enjoys the opportunity to mentor and support students as they work on interesting, policy-relevant projects for organizations in the Houston area.
