Youyuan Deng worked on computational biophysics, on cell- and system-level modeling. e.g. cell motility, tissue mechanics influencing cancer progression, immune system. He graduated in 2023 from the Levine group. His PhD thesis, titled "Modeling Mechanical And Chemical Signals In Cellular Biophysics" developed computational models for collective cell motility, the ecology of tumor microenvironments, and coupling between epithelial-mesenchymal transition and extracellular matrix stiffness. He is now an Applied Scientist at Amazon.
