Weijian graduated from the Naik lab in 2022. Their PhD thesis, titled "1T-TaS2: A new tunable optical materials platform for nanophotonics application," explored the optical characterization of the charge density wave phases of the tunable 2D material 1T-TaS2, proposed a model to understand the physical mechanism of the tunability, and explored nanophotonic devices using 1T-TaS2.

Since graduating, Weijian has pursued a virtual reality startup company.
