Els Woudstra is a PhD student in English at Rice University. Her research interests include 19th and 20th century American literature, critical disability studies, feminist science and technology studies, and continental philosophy. Recently, her research has brought together developments in sensory neuroprosthetics with Merleau-Ponty’s late phenomenology and feminist new materialism to explore a posthuman phenomenology of touch.
