PhD: George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology
Thesis:Analytical Performance Analysis in Laser-assisted and Ultrasonic Vibration-assisted Milling
Dr. Yixuan Feng received his Bachelor's degree in 2014 in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. He received his Master's degree in 2016 from University of Wisconsin-Madison and PhD degree in 2019 from Georgia Institute of Technology, both in Mechanical Engineering. His PhD research was about analytical modeling of advanced manufacturing processes. He predicted cutting force, temperature change, residual stress, surface roughness, and tool wear based on mechanics of machining, tool trajectory, and loading/unloading history. Currently, Dr. Yixuan Feng is working with Professor Abbas Firoozabadi to simulate hydraulic fracturing in oil and gas well development through phase field approximation.
