A Texas native and Rice alum (Hanszen ’05), Sarah Rufca Nielsen joined the Kinder Institute after spending over a decade as a writer and editor at publications including Houstonia magazine, the Houston Chronicle, American Heritage magazine and Culturemap. Prior to KIUR, Sarah was most recently Head of Creative at Houston-based PR agency The CKP Group, where video, social media and branding projects she helmed won numerous local marketing awards. She enjoys tacos of all kinds, reading murder mysteries, macarons, flowers from Trader Joe’s, Love Island UK and leisurely bike rides with her husband and 2 kids.
