Arielle (she/hers) joined the SSI team as the Assistant Director of Student Success Initiatives in June 2021 after completing her masters degree in Higher Education from Harvard University. Arielle was born and raised in California, and is so excited for her new journey with Rice University in Texas! At UC Davis, she received her Bachelor degrees in American Studies and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, and has spent several years researching the link between mental health and success for Black and brown college students. Arielle is passionate about creating healing-centered spaces for QTPOC, womxn of color, and other historically marginalized student populations. She encourages the prioritization of wellness and community care, and centers these values in all she does. Her favorite wellness and care practices are hiking with her dog, taking naps, and hosting movie and game nights with loved ones and a wild amount of snacks!

Advising Philosophy: My heart lies in providing personalized holistic wellness and retention resources for our student populations that too often have their needs and voices ignored. Before we are scholars and students, we are humans. Humans with needs, capacities, hopes, and dreams. I work to create a space where you can bring your whole self, and feel seen and heard. I hope to partner with you in finding strategies that best support your unique needs and goals for community building, self-advocacy, identity development, long-term aspirations, lifelong wellness, and more!
