Zhenzhen Zhao

Introduction
Zhenzhen Zhao joined the SSI team in August 2023 as the Assistant Director of Student Success Initiatives. With a Master of Law in Sociology from Sun Yat-Sen University and an M.Ed in Higher Education from University of Houston, Zhenzhen’s transnational experience through academia has equipped her with a holistic perspective on student development. Prior to her journey to the United States, Zhenzhen worked at Sun Yat-Sen University and Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College. Through guiding students through their endeavors, Zhenzhen has strengthened her skillsets in effectively addressing the academic, personal, and professional needs of a diverse student body.

Advising Philosophy
Zhenzhen firmly believes that each student possesses a unique set of talents, aspirations, and challenges. As an advisor, her primary objective is to provide unwavering support as students navigate their distinctive paths. Advising for her is not about providing all the answers, but rather about cultivating an environment where students feel inspired to take ownership of their educational journey and personal growth. She is committed to fostering a partnership with students, helping them recognize their strengths, and encouraging them to embrace boldness and courage in their pursuits.
